Job Description

Pennoni Associates Inc., an ENR Top 100 Firm, is in search of applications for an experienced divers/inspectors to aid in Delmarva area underwater and topside structural inspections. 

Applicants daily responsibilities will include but not be limited to:

  • Coordination and completion of underwater and topside structural inspections, report generation, commercial diving and inspection equipment maintenance, and client coordination.

  • Structural inspections of bridges, culverts, piers, wharfs, tunnels, sign and light structures, and other waterfront features can be expected.  

This position is for Pennoni’s Baltimore, MD, Newark, DE and /or Virginia Beach office. Includes local travel, occasional national travel, and rare occasions of international travel.

The applicant will work on contracts with government agencies such as Maryland Transportation Authority, Maryland State Highway Administration, DelDOT, VDOT, US Army Corps of Engineers, National Parks Service, and other agencies.

Job Requirements

  • Required education: High School Diploma. Associate/Bachelor's degree in engineering is a plus.
  • Minimum of 4-7 years of experience.
  • Minimum of 0-3 years of management experience.
  • Licenses required
    • Must possess or be able to obtain an Association of Diving Contractors (ADCI) Surface Supplied Air Diver Certificate
  • Licenses preferred
    • ADCI Surface Supplied Air Diving Supervisor is a plus
    • Experience with bridge inspection and/or bridge construction, including National Highway Institute's Safety Inspection of In-Service Bridges course is preferred, although not required.
    • FE/PE is a plus

Preferred Attributes

  • Leadership qualities and excellent verbal and written communication skills, including bridge inspection report writing.
  • Experience with preparation and review of bridge inspection reports.
  • Experience with Microsoft Office products and knowledge of Microstation/AutoCAD software preferred.
